Childcare

If like me you’re a working parent, the cost of childcare can soon outweigh all of the other household bills combined *sigh*

It’s an expensive outlay that unless you’ve got helpful friends and family to give you a hand cannot be avoided.

Thankfully, the childcare God’s have been listening and have come up with a solution – 30 hours FREE childcare!

This could help so many parents get back into work or pick up their hours.

So, are you eligible?

Parents of 3 or 4 year olds must meet a criteria to be eligible, which is as follows…

  1. They earn or expect to earn the equivalent to 16 hours at National Minimum or Living Wage over the coming three months.
  2. This equates to £120 a week (or c.£6,000 a year) for each parent over 25 years old or £112.80 a week (or c.£5,800 a year) for each parent between 21 and 24 years old and £56 a week for apprentices in their first year.

Parents won’t meet the criteria if they earn over £100,000.

You can find more information HERE and also check with your childcare provider, school/nursery to see whether they offer the 30 hours.
